Yes. If you pre-order a Somnox sleep robot, you have 30 days to determine whether it works for you. If not, you can return the Somnox sleep robot and get your money back (excluding shipping costs and 50 euro for the washable sleeve).
Somnox simulates breathing. Because your breathing naturally adjusts to another breathing pattern, Somnox is able to slow down your breathing. This makes you relax, making it easier to sleep. For more information: https://www.somnox.nl/breathing.
Additionally, Somnox can function as an external point to focus your thoughts on, clearing your head of unwanted thoughts and stress. Also sounds (such as a guided meditation or a heartbeat) are used to help you fall asleep and will turn off as soon as you are asleep: https://www.somnox.nl/sounds
In the last year, we conducted many tests with test sleepers. Their feedback has helped us improve the sleep robot. In the last test, 90% of participants indicated to have fallen asleep faster and 70% to have achieved a better night’s rest. We have not done a clinical test (yet), due to the large investment of both time and money this requires. However, this is something we plan to do in the upcoming years to see whether our sleep robot could be covered by health insurance.
The results of our tests can be found under Science.
Reviews from individual test sleepers and journalists can be found here.
In the last year, we conducted many tests with test sleepers. We will continue to do this. However, at this moment, all spots are filled. In the future, we will ask for new test sleepers in our newsletter. Alternatively, when you are in the Netherlands, you can sleep a night with Somnox at the WestCord Hotel in Delft.
When you pre-order Somnox, you will be able to use our 30 night return policy after we deliver the product.
Somnox is currently under development and not yet available on the market. At the moment we are negotiating with manufacturers. The estimated retail price will be around €589,-. However, it is already possible to pre-order Somnox for a discounted price: €499,- ($599,-).
Some people scare when they hear the price of the Somnox sleep robot. However, people that suffer from insomnia mostly do not respond this way. They know the importance of sleeping, something you spend 30% of your life on (if you’re lucky). Many people spend thousands on mattresses in their lives or hundreds of dollars on sleeping pills each year.
No. We didn’t conduct any research proving the claim on ‘fighting’ apnea.
Somnox does use breathing as one of it’s core features, but not with the intention on fighting apnea.
Yes, it can be easily washed.
The sleeve of Somnox the sleep robot can be taken off to be washed in the washing machine at a temperature of 60 degrees celsius.
Ensuring a hygienic experience every single time.
You should perceive Somnox as an addition to the family, like a baby laying in between (that doesn’t cry or burp). And hey, why not have a Somnox for the both of you? Spooning together is so much fun.
We also tested Somnox with people who slept with a partner and here we got positive results as well. So Somnox is not only for singles.
At launch Somnox will only be available in one size.
We have conducted many user tests with many shapes and sizes. We found one size to be ideal for most people.
In the future different sizes will be available as well.
Depends on what technology you are refering to.
Generally speaking when people refer to technology in their bedroom it is about mobile phones / laptops and other screen devices (such as a tv).
It is proven in multiple studies that the blue light that a screen emits has a negative impact on your biological clock. Blue light activates the brain rather than putting it to sleep.
Also, your mobile phone is your source of work / stress / updates that activate and stress the body. While the body should be relaxed when going to sleep.
Somnox doesn’t have any screen or blue lights to activate the brain. Somnox has thoroughly developed technology to induce sleep and relax body and mind. Moreover, bluetooth is disabled during the night and Somnox will only send data to the app in the morning
No, Somnox doesn’t.
Somnox uses only bluetooth during the day (when you are awake).
Somnox gathers data during the night locally and transmits them to your phone through bluetooth in the morning.
So no need to worry about bluetooth radiation in your cosy bed.
Kickstarter and Indiegogo are crowdfuding platforms. Crowdfunding is an alternative for traditional ways of fundraising like a bank loan or a venture capital investment. With crowdfunding, everyone around the world (=the crowd) can give money in order to get a project or company funded. People can get a reward when a donation is above a certain amount of money. In our case, you can get a Somnox sleep robot.
For our initial crowdfunding campaign, we used the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter. Until launch, we use Indiegogo in demand to make it possible to still pre-order Somnox.
With our crowdfunding campaign, we wanted to raise funds to finance our production line. Now we have succeeded in this, we can start producing Somnox and deliver our first products. These will be delivered to those who pre-ordered Somnox during the Kickstarter campaign.
Indiegogo only accepts credit card on their website. If you don’t have one, you have a few options:
– Borrow someone else’s credit card
– Buy a virtual credit card. This gives you a credit card number that you can use to buy things online. You can transfer money to the virtual credit card with iDEAL or a bank transfer. You can then use the virtual credit card on Kickstarter. For more information (in Dutch) on virtual credit cards: https://www.alleszondercreditcard.nl/virtuele-creditcard/
Examples of virtual creditcards:
https://pay2d.nl/products/virtual/. Note: you can only put 300 euro on the credit card per day.
http://www.mywirecard.com/en/mastercard.html. Note: you can only charge this credit card with bank transfer, not iDEAL.
– If that are all no options for you, send us an email at [email protected] and we help you out.
